Hope Rapp
Primary Montessori Teacher

My name is Hope Rapp and I am excited to be part of the Murray LaSaine staff.  I have been involved in the Montessori community for the past 10 years – first as a parent, then as a volunteer and now as a teacher.  I look forward to exploring the world of Montessori education with my students and their families as we launch this wonderful program.

This is my tenth year as a teacher.  I began my career teaching second grade in Portage, Michigan for six years.  When my family moved to Charleston, I had the privilege to teach kindergarten at Orange Grove Elementary for one year, before taking time off to raise my daughter.  I first became involved in the Montessori community when my daughter began her formal education at age 2 ½.  Over the course of the next three years, my confidence in this approach strengthened as I watched my daughter blossom.  I saw first-hand how this method of teaching aims for the development of the whole child.

"Education is a natural process carried out by the child and is not acquired by listening to words but by experiences in the environment."  - Dr. Maria Montessori
